The Summer 1998 edition of Presbyterian & Reformed News published a feature article on Mike Hall, a minister of the Presbyterian Church in America who also serves as a West Virginia state legislator. On November 3, 1998, he was re-elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates.
Mr. Hall is in a two-seat district. Even though greatly outspent by one of his fellow Republicans, he was the top vote-getter among the two winners. The fact that he continues to win elections despite spending a minimal amount of money has amazed the political pundits.
In the new legislature, he has been promoted by his party to being the Minority Whip in the House. His new assignment is the Finance Committee. He is also one of only fourteen legislators working on a blue-ribbon Governor's panel which is working to overhaul the tax code in the Mountaineer State.
