On June 7, 1998, Metropolitan New York Presbytery installed Rev. Mark Wellman as an evangelist to begin a church in the Chester and Randolph areas of Morris County, New Jersey. The Session of Grace Community Church (PCA), Bridgewater, NJ, is directly supervising the new church plant, which will be known as Hope Presbyterian Church.

Born in Saudi Arabia in 1968, Mr. Wellman graduated from Westmont College and Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando). He was ordained in 1994 as Assistant Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Brandon, Florida. Mark, wife Tami, and their three children have already relocated to New Jersey and have gathered a core group, which includes a PCA ruling elder. Outreach events have included three weeks of Backyard Bible Clubs in August. The first worship service of the mission church is scheduled for mid-fall.
