A Poignant Moment
At the May meeting of Northeast Presbytery, TE Gerry
Yost, Pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, St. Albans, VT, rose
to thank the presbyters over their expressions of love in the
loss of his son to a drug overdose. Reflecting on the probable
eternal estate of his son, Mr. Yost said, "We don't know
what goes on in people's minds as they die, but I really have
no hope. One of my greatest joys would be to discover in heaven
that I was mistaken. God has kept us in hope, kept us from despair,
kept us in love with Him. God is good-very good. . . . God does
heal, God is faithful, and God is good."
